RMA audit professionals understand that our foremost responsibility is to serve the public interest through integrity, professionalism, and high-performance. Quality is the cornerstone of all that we do at RMA; it is the foundation upon which our firm was built and the very essence of our audit practice. We transform our pledge to audit quality into action through our dedication to objectivity and independence, transparent and ongoing dialogue with stakeholders, and investments in our people and the tools and resources that support their work.
RMA has provided financial statement audit, performance audit, and attestation services to both Civilian and Defense agencies. RMA’s experience includes financial audits at the Department level, as well as at the bureau or component level, and for government corporations. Our performance audit experience ranges from focused audits assessing corrective actions or data integrity to broader, program-related engagements. We have performed Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 18 (SSAE 18) engagements for a variety of Department of Defense agencies.
RMA’s approach for providing financial audit services is consistent with the GAO/CIGIE FAM, which defines a methodology for performing financial statement audits of Federal entities. RMA reaches beyond FAM guidance to tailor its audit approach to the unique needs of each client.
RMA is a leader in FISMA assessments, and we possess a proven methodology for delivering on-time, insightful, and value-added FISMA security assessments. Our experienced IT professionals are always up-to-date on the current cybersecurity laws, regulations, and guidance, and we have developed tools for applying this guidance to real-world situations. Whether conducting an independent audit or assisting clients to prepare for an audit, RMA combines our extensive knowledge of Federal IT audit guidance, such as FISCAM, with our technical IT expertise to provide not only thorough assessments but, also, practical recommendations for remediation of findings.
RMA personnel also oversee peer reviews via inclusion on a Peer Review Oversight Committee (PROC) for the AICPA. We also are AICPA peer reviewers. Inclusion in the PROC and AICPA peer reviewer program is a testament to our firm’s emphasis on audit quality.
